Today we present to you an amazing style of music we’ve not written so much about.
Ennio Morricone is a living legend, a man who has given so much to music and helped shape the art form as we know it today. Our parents and most of us have grown up watching movies and enjoying the beautiful compositions heard in the background of every scene.
The man responsible for a lot of that music is Ennio Morricone, an 87 year-old composer, orchestrator and conductor born in Rome. He is perhaps the biggest name in movie scoring in the past 100 years. Morricone has also established himself as one of the greatest names in classical music today.
For the movie ‘The Hateful Eight’ directed by Quentin Tarantino, Ennio actually initially refused to compose the soundtrack. The main reason he gave for this was the kind of sped-up production and schedule such Hollywood productions have.
But due to the great respect Ennio has for Quentin’s work, he eventually accepted the filmmaker’s invitation, resulting in the sublime music we hear in the movie.
Together with composer Alex North, Ennio is the only composer to receive an honorary Oscar award. He got this Oscar in 2007, but he is now in line for another golden statuette this year for his Hateful Eight work.
Today we will relax and enjoy his amazing music for this movie.
