It’s not every day you come across a brother-sister duo that can rock the hell out of you. So it’s our great pleasure to introduce to you Ropoporose, if you didn’t already know them. Based in the central France town of Vendôme, the band is made up of Pauline (lead vox, guitar, keyboards, percussions) and Romain (drums, guitar, backing vocals).
The world first got wind of this alt-rock outfit back in 2014 but fans had to wait till 2015 to listen to the first Ropoporose album, ‘Elephant Love‘, a solid 9-song project full of innovative tracks. It was originally recorded back in 2013. There was more than a little of a retrospective psychedelic vibe to the music. And the disparity between Pauline’s child-like alto and Romain’s disenchanted drone was charming.
Later in the year they gave fans something to chew on in the form of the EP ‘Birdbus‘ as they went to work on their next project. This next project took the form of a four-song recording titled ‘BRNS‘ which would be released in spring 2016. Even this was just a foretaste of greater glory; there is a new Ropoporose album due out on February 17 under the curious moniker ‘Kernel Foreign Moons’. You can pre-order the CD right now from the band’s Facebook page.
In the meantime you can enjoy the video for the album’s lead single ‘Horses’, a dimly-lit collection of images depicting the siblings doing what they do best.
