Indian Woman Mauled to Death By Pack of Dogs
If you have a conscience, then you must be close to reaching your threshold. I honestly don’t know how much more bad, devastating, heart wrenching news the world can take. Right about now I’m regretting ever starting this series. Not even gummy bears will get me through this in the long run. Not when dogs are eating people. A 65-year-old Indian woman was eaten alive by a group of vicious stray dogs that ripped at her arms and legs, in full view of her son. We could just stop right here because this is enough Nightmare Fuel for weeks.
The incident happened in Pulluvila, India. According to reports, the woman was taking a walk at the beach when dozens of dogs pounced on her. Her son was out looking for her after she took a while to return from her walk when he found his mother being attacked. He and a few others eventually managed to drive away the animals but it was already too late. His mother was bleeding all over her body with parts of her arms and legs lopped off and she died on the way to hospital. We know there are a thousand ways to go but to buy the farm like that is just tragic.
Stray dogs have been a problem for India, particularly in the state of Kerala. According to a May 2016 BBC report, India has at least 30 million stray dogs and over 20,000 people die of rabies every year. In 2015, the Global Alliance Rabies Control reported that India accounted for 35% of human rabies deaths in that year. Many of the deaths were blamed on bites inflicted by stray mutts. And now civil authorities claim dog bites in Mumbai have killed more people in 20 years than the city’s 1993 and 2008 terror attacks. Holy Crap! Authorities in Kerala are considering mass culling. Yeah, like animal rights groups are gonna allow that!
