Here’s some great news for rock n roll lovers out there. Three years after they gave us ‘Mechanical Bull’, Nashville rockers Kings of Leon are getting ready to release their seventh studio album. ‘WALLS’ drops on the 14th of October but before then the band will throw a pre-release gig at the Ascend Amphitheatre in Nashville. This will be the first time any of the WALLS songs are heard live, so grab your tickets and plan to be there. Along with this announcement the Followills gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the cover art for their new album was created; an interesting process to say the least. This is just one of the ways in which the new LP represents a break from tradition for the Kings of Leon. Another is that the songs were recorded in Los Angeles, miles away from their Nashville comfort zone, and miles away from their regular producer Angelo Patraglia.
What will thrill Kings fans even more is the release of ‘Waste A Moment’, the first single from WALLS. There is more of a happy-go-lucky, danceable vibe to this songs than to most other KOL tunes, yet further evidence of breaking from the norm. But the metaphoric writing and Caleb’s piercing tenor are still very much intact, fans will be happy to note. Find out what else what else the Followill brothers (and cousin) have tweaked in their musical approach when the album is released. WALLS is available for pre-order by the way.
