It was just a few weeks ago we brought you news of Lil Wayne’s seizure while airborne. Admirably, after suffering two attacks in quick succession, the New Orleans MC still made the flight to Los Angeles and performed, this just a few days after being released from hospital. It appeared then that Weezy was finally out of danger and on the way to total health. Not so.
This time the Cash Money signee was in Las Vegas as one of the performers at the pre-party of the UFC 200 held at the TAO nightclub. But he never got to perform; just moments before he was to climb onstage the seizure attacked. Again the rapper was rushed to intensive care but was soon released and went to Miami to begin his recovery. Anyone familiar with Weezy’s work ethic will know how disappointed he would be to be resting when he has a date with the mic. But rest he must if he is to reduce his chances of a recurrence of the problem that has dogged him since his youth.
While speculation was rife that his last seizures were caused by a return to the cough syrup addiction he was warned against, the rapper insists that this latest episode was triggered by improper medication. Here’s hoping whoever is responsible has finally got the balance of his meds right, we need to see that long promised ‘Carter V’ soon. And with Wayne adamant that that will be his last record, we need him to be in the best health.
