Unless you’ve been living in an underground bomb shelter or have just been rescued from a deserted island, you know that Joe Budden and Drake have been going at each other. It is the beef that seems to have replaced the Meek Mill-Drake one, at least temporarily. Budden’s less-than-flattering views on ‘Views’ is what sparked the war of words. It escalated to the point of Joe releasing a couple of diss tracks and calling Drizzy “lame” in a Breakfast Club interview with Charlamagne tha God.
Drake has remained largely mum, limiting his response to Budden’s lyrical provocation to Instagram DMs (which Budden called “soft”). But the New Jersey rapper appears to have done enough to get himself in the limelight, as the recent incident with some selfie-seeking fans proved. Budden chased down a couple of youths who appeared to have been persistently invading his private space and issued them some chilling threats (“I will kill one of you!”) while tapping on their car with a rock. They had been tailing his BMW for a while before he pulled up into his parking and one of them had the nerve to jog up to Joe’s window as he got out of the car.
The picture of Joe running after them in a vest and shorts has been doing the rounds on social media, generating a wave of memes. While it may have supplied Drake fans with ammo against him, Joe Budden is also determined to make the most out of that image of himself in full flight. In true Birdman fashion, he has developed a line of merchandise using what should be a damaging picture, which you can cop now from his online store. You can pick your size and color of t-shirt or cap of this new running man design and own a piece of Joe Budden’s exciting rap star life.
