As a little girl she grew up listening to R&B legends like Anita Baker, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, longing for the day she would be able to produce the same magic with her voice. And Chelsea Nichole, A.K.A Chelsea Jazz has gone a long way towards making her dreams come true. If you love your cartoons, you may have heard her singing in the Hanna Barbara Flintstones CD that was released in the mid-nineties. And if you’re a smooth jazz nut like I claim to be, her voice may have charmed you on some of the songs on Jeff Lorber’s ‘Midnight’ album. After supporting him and several other artists on their projects, Chelsea finally released her own debut album in 2009.
‘Through a Woman’s Eyes’ was followed by ‘Spiritual Man‘ in 2014. You will soon get the chance to cop both these projects online as Chelsea plans to re-release them in the near future. By the end of 2015 she plans to have another album out entitled ‘Love and Laughter’. And the songstress has given us a taste of things to come with ‘Good Man’. In this gorgeous composition Chelsea gives props to all the guys out there striving to make things work for their families. The simplicity and accessibility of the tune will have you humming it through the day. And let me just say I’ve missed singing like Chelsea’s for the longest time. How about you, cherished reader, Hate it or Love it?
