Prime Circle is a South African Rock band formed in 2000 by Ross Learmonth, Dirk Bisschoff, Marco Gomes, and Gerhard Vent. Their debut album, titled ‘Hello Crazy World’ in 2002, which spawned the hit ‘Let Me Go.’ The track is easily as good as any top modern Rock song you could hear today. I know, I know. They are a South African Rock band and me being patriotic and all of course I would say they are good is probably what you are saying right now. But they are really good. And not only that, the song has a sort of global polish to it. The first time I heard it I thought it was an American rock band. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was my homeboys. Plus I’m a sucker for anything with distinctive guitar sounds.
It’s also a feel-good song: “Look around, I’m surrounded by people, wondering where I went wrong, hearing voices telling me boy you’re just not that strong, I’m entwined in a web of confusion, counting dreams to one day carve in stone…So let me go , let me see, let me find myself again. And all these walls, I tear them down and I move on…” just what you need to hear when life gives you lemons. To date the band has released six studio albums and achieved multi-platinum status in the country. Prime Circle has been a permanent fixture on rock stages around the world. They are set to release their seventh studio album sometime this year.
