You’ve probably heard about Rammstein, an industrial metal group that became a world-famous musical attraction for their edgy performances. If you have, and love them, believe you me you should take a chance and listen to a band called Laibach.
This is one of the most famous bands from Slovenia. It was formed in 1980 in what was then Yugoslavia and went on to become trailblazers in a still nascent industrial metal scene.
To date this band has eight studio albums, and many times in their career they been very provocative while addressing sensitive political, social themes. But if you give them chance and go little bit deeper into their music you will appreciate the genius in their work.
A couple of weeks ago they surprised the world when they held a cracking concert in the political land mine that is North Korea. After that I read an interview of Laibach’s leader Eber about his experience in that reclusive state, and he insists the country is nothing like we read every day in the news. Indeed he said he was even contemplating taking up residence in North Korea.
So, dear readers, I give you Laibach.
