Smile, summer’s finally here. And now, thanks to Zara Larsson, you have the perfect springboard into the good times. If you didn’t know, 18 year-old Zara is a rising synth-pop sensation from Sweden who first made a name for herself with ‘Never Forget You‘, a collaborative dubstep-infused hit with renowned British singer-songwriter MNEK. But way before that she had won her homeland over with her performances on Sweden’s Got Talent, a competition she won at the ripe old age of 10. Now she is a fully-fledged international music star signed with Epic Records who has sold millions of records and performed before millions (she sang at the Euro 2016 opening ceremony backed by David Guetta). She however has just one full-length album to her name aptly titled ‘1’ but she will soon be redressing this anomaly with the release of her sophomore album. Said album has been more than two years in the making and today marks an exact year since its first single was released.
‘Lush Life’ was the name of that single which went on to dominate the Swedish charts and peak at a respectable number 3 in the UK charts. There was a video released with the song which has drawn a not-too-shabby 273 million views to date. Not content with this incredible feat, and perhaps in a bid to repackage the single for the warm season, Zara has dropped revamped visuals for Lush Life. It showcases the teenager in a variety of outfits against the vibrant hues associated with summer, her trimmed locks flying as she prances about the set. The dance moves are basic but there’s something undeniably sweet about this clip.
